No, you do not need to uninstall Nokia PC Suite to be able to install Nokia Suite. However, it is recommended that you do not have them both running simultaneously on your computer
Also, the Nokia Suite installer will disable PC Suite if it is running in the background. From there you can proceed in installing Nokia Suite on to your computer.
Nokia PC Suite is being replaced by Nokia Suite(earlier known as Nokia Ovi Suite), which is the newer and more user-friendly application for Windows.
Nokia is not developing PC Suite anymore.
With Nokia Suite, you can connect your computer and your phone. Keeping important information up to date on your phone and on your computer is simple, and you can transfer music, and download free street maps to your phone with ease. Nokia PC Suite and Nokia Suite can be installed on the same computer, but you should not use them simultaneously. Note that the latest Nokia phones are supported only by Nokia Suite.

Creating a Custom Contact List
If you have more contacts in your Personal Information Manager (PIM) than your phone book memory can hold, synchronizing may overload your phone book memory.
You can create a custom contact list or subset of your master contact list containing only the information you want in your phone. Depending on the PIM application you use, you may need to create a new contact database file or create a new folder to store the custom contact list.
Configuring for Outlook users
Microsoft Outlook users can create folders and sub-folders in their Outlook database files. To create a custom contact list, first create a new folder to store contacts. Then copy the desired contact information from your main contacts folder to the new folder. Nokia PC Suite 7.1 PC Sync allows you to synchronize your phone with the Outlook contacts folder of your choosing.
