Nokia N86 8MP support

Get started with your device

On this page you can learn the basics of your new Nokia N86 8MP device. Learn how to insert the SIM card and memory card or what kind of keys and parts your device has.

Keys and parts

In addition to the regular keys, some of the control keys on your Nokia N86 8MP device are above the screen. These are called short slide keys.

Short slide keys enable multitasking. For example, if you are browsing the Internet with the Music player on the background and you want to skip to the next or the previous track, press the Play/Pause key to make the forward and rewind keys available.

Insert SIM card and battery

To prevent damage to the SIM card, always switch your device off and remove the battery before you insert or remove the card.

To insert the SIM card, you must do the following:

  1. With the back of the device facing you, lift up the cover.
Note! If you have battery already in place, remove it now.
  2. Insert the SIM card into the card holder. Ensure that the bevelled corner on the card is facing right, and that the contact area on the card is facing down.
  3. Insert the battery.
  4. To replace the cover, press the cover down until the cover locks into place.

If the SIM card is not properly in place, the device can only be used in the offline profile. Use your stylus pen to help remove the SIM card.
