Prolong battery life

Features that use Bluetooth or wireless LAN (WLAN) technology, or allowing such features to run in the background while using other features, increase the demand on battery power. To save the battery, turn off breathing, naviwheel touch and sensor, Bluetooth and WLAN technology when you do not need them.

Activate the power saving

You can activate the power saving profile by briefly pressing the Power key on the top of the phone and selectiong Activate power saving. This profile will adjust the functions of your phone to save energy.

Unnecessary applications running?

To check whether there are applications running in the background, press and hold the Menu key. To close the applications you do not use, scroll to an application in the list, and press C. Leaving applications running in the background increases the demand on battery power.

Search on device and on web

You can search for the content in your device, such as calendar entries and messages, or access Internet search engines with Mobile search. To start searching, press the Menu key and select Search.

To search content in your device, go to the main view and enter your text in the search field. The search results are displayed on the screen as you write.

To use the Web search, select Search the Internet in the Search main view. Then select a search engine and enter your text to search. Press the scroll key to start the search. Notice that Web search is a network service.

Automatic display orientation

In most applications, your device's display automatically rotates between the portrait and lanscape modes, depending on how you hold your device. To turn the sensor on, press the Menu key and select Tools > Settings > General > Sensor settings > Turning control and press the scroll key to turn the display orientation on.

Explore and manage your music

Explore and manage your music with the Nokia Music PC client. It comes with a DVD together with your mobile device. You can listen to and manage your music library, rip your CD's, access Nokia Music Store, and transfer music and playlists to and from your device. Add a track you have bought to your device with simple drag and drop or by using auto-synchronisation.
